Disney’s The Contemporary Resort Quick Breakfast, Haunted Mansion Eclair, Merch, and a New Topiary. We had quite a fun day stopping at Disney’s Magic Kingdom yesterday morning. Since we were done in the park so early we stopped by The Contemporary to grab a quick service breakfast and see all the new merchandise.
Disney Chefs have updated some of the menus around the resort lately, but sometimes an older classic just hits. That is the case with the Contempo Cafe breakfast. Loaded Totcho Bowl – Potato Barrels topped with Scrambled Eggs, Cheddar, Sausage Gravy, and Bacon Crumbles – $10.99
Put a little hot sauce packet over the top and it really is a good and filling breakfast. You actually get a lot for your money with the portion size. The bacon, and sausage gravy really work well. The barrels are decent, with some of them soaking up the sauce, you get a good balance of crispy ones and soggy ones.
Since we were so close to lunchtime, we decided to try the new – Haunted Mansion – Éclair Éclair filled with Caramel Apple Mousse topped with Chocolate-Caramel Ganache with Haunted Mansion Edible Images – $6.49. In fact, the only way this could have been better was if they figured out how to put the Haunted Mansion covering on without using chocolate to hold it. Not that it was bad, but just an apple flavor hits this time of year.
Another winner for us. I love fall and the flavor of apple this time of year just hits.

Starting Oct. 1, the culinary teams at the theme parks and Disney Resort hotels will be putting a flavorful spell on you with even more fang-tastic delights for you to sink your teeth into.

From the adorable new Mike Wazowski Pop at Gasparilla Island Grill to the can’t-miss return of the Pumpkin Patch Cookie at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there are plenty of Halloween items to keep you satisfied all season long.

Situated on the Grand Canyon Concourse, this eatery boasts a prime view of monorails buzzing by—and the 90-foot mural by Mary Blair, the legendary artist behind “it’s a small world.” You’ll also find a diverse menu of fare, including flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, and a tempting array of cupcakes infused with Disney magic.
Outside on the ground floor by the pool is a new Mickey Mouse topiary photo spot. I have never seen that setup at The Contemporary before.
Bayview Gifts – Shop for premium Disney souvenirs including adult apparel, jewelry, framed artwork, housewares, sweet treats, and more. We stopped by to see what was new, and to be honest there was not much.
We did spot the DVC set of Halloween Ears. I like them since they feature Minnie Mouse, Goofy Donald Duck, and whatever the name of the ghost is. $34.99 and only available to Disney Vacation Club Members. The WOrds Happy Halloween and Disney Vacation CLub Member are on the backside of one ear. Perfect for a night out at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Finally, we got to see a new Mary Blair-inspired Holiday Ornament featuring Mickey and Minnie and The Contemporary Resort.
