New Hallmark Movie ‘Christmas On Cherry Lane’ Brings ‘This Is Us’ Feels. Hallmark Media has brought its A game this Holiday season. Having just finished this movie and dried my eyes, I felt moved to write about it.
‘Christmas On Cherry Lane’ is a beautiful story on Cherry Lane on various Christmas Eves. This movie brought tears, cheers, gasps, and smiles. It was a moving tribute to generations of families and their special Christmas Eves over 50 years.
Spoiler Free Review ahead.
Three families on Cherry Lane celebrating Christmas Eve across three decades share one common thread when Catherine Bell (“Good Witch”), Jonathan Bennett (“The Holiday Sitter”), John Brotherton (“Lights, Camera, Christmas!”), Erin Cahill (“Hearts in the Game”), James Denton (“Good Witch”) and Vincent Rodriguez III (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”) star in “Christmas on Cherry Lane,”
At Christmastime on Cherry Lane, a young couple (Brotherton, Cahill) prepares to welcome their first child as they try to settle into their new home on Christmas Eve while a well-meaning family unexpectedly descends upon them; an empty-nester (Bell) and her fiancé (Denton) are ready to start a new chapter together although her grown children want to cling to the past and try to sway her to do the same.
A couple (Jonathan Bennett, Vincent Rodriguez III) is thrilled when they unexpectedly get the chance to expand their family on Christmas Eve, causing them to scramble to get the house ready in the throes of the final hours of a kitchen remodel. The three couples celebrate Christmas Eve in their own special ways as they navigate these turning points in their lives, become closer in the process, and a surprising connection between them all is revealed.
As the movie unfolded, I was immediately reminded of how much I love Hallmark Christmas movies and ‘This Is Us’. As a huge fan of Hallmark’s ‘Good Witch’ series, I was thrilled to see James Denton and Catherine Bell reuniting. Their chemistry in this was certainly reminiscent of their roles as Sam Radford and Cassie Nightengale.
“Christmas on Cherry Lane” is from Hallmark Media. Kimberley Bradley and Jonathan Eskenas are executive producers. Antonio Cupo serves as producer and the movie is produced by Stephen Harmaty. Gail Harvey directed from a script by Rick Garman. This is a movie that I will be revisiting for Christmases to come.
