Death In Paradise Gets Release Date and 100th Episode Plot Announcement. Long-running fan-favorite British Crime show, Death In Paradise, is set to have its 100th episode and furthermore, we now know when we can watch it.
Premiering on February 5th on BBC and February 15th streaming on BritBox, we can watch the gang from Saint Marie celebrate Police Commissioner, Selwyn Patterson’s 50th years of police service. At his party, he is left fighting for his life as he’s shot by a mysterious assassin. Will the team be able to come together and solve this crime? Will Commissioner Patterson survive? All will be revealed in the show’s 13th series.

This show has been a personal favorite of mine since its start. I was drawn to the colorful island vibe and a rotating cast of guest stars, the music, and more. My family jokes that I love “Murder Island.”
The show premiered in 2011 with Ben Miller in the role of DI Richard Poole. The uptight detective from London comes to the Island to solve the murder of his predecessor. After he solves the case, he thinks he is flying back to his life in England. That is not the case. He stays on the island for two series.
DI Poole leaves the show and is replaced by DI Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris Marshall. Humphrey stays for series 3-6. He is replaced by DI Jack Mooney, played by Ardal O’Hanlon. Jack is the lead for series 6-9. Finally, he is replaced by DI Neville Parker, played by Ralf Little. He’s there series 9-present. Also joining the DIs are the various Detective Sargents and Officers, Commissioner Patterson, and Catherine Bourday, the owner of Catherine’s Bar and later in the show’s run, the Mayor of Saint Marie.
The colorful characters of the Island and the rotating murder victims, murder suspects, and murderers bring me so much joy. This show reminds me of Murder She Wrote in the States. There’s a new guest cast each and every episode. The island vibes are contagious. Then there’s Harry. Harry is the mascot. He’s the pet lizard that each new detective inherits. What’s not to love?
