Newly Reimagined Beauty and the Beast Show will Tour North America

North American tour of the beloved musical’s reimagined stage production is set to kick off in June 2025. The show is in Australia at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre, this fresh rendition promises to enchant audiences across North America.

The first shows will be in Schenectady, NY, at Proctors in June 2025. Then have its grand opening at Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre in July. It will make a notable stop at Minneapolis’ Orpheum Theatre in August. Stay tuned for updates on casting and the anticipated two-year tour itinerary.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic 1991 animated film, Beauty and the Beast enjoyed a remarkable 13-year run on Broadway from 1994 to 2007. Directed by Robert Jess Roth and featuring a book by original screenwriter Linda Woolverton. With music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. This production garnered nine Tony Award nominations, including nods for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.

The reimagined touring production will reunite the talents of Menken, Rice, and Woolverton, along with several other key members of the original creative team. Notable figures such as choreographer-turned-director Matt West, scenic designer Stanley A. Meyer, and lighting designer Natasha Katz will bring their expertise to the stage once more. Ann Hould-Ward, recipient of the 1994 Tony Award for Costume Design, returns to oversee costumes, while new dance music arrangements by David Chase inject fresh energy into the beloved score. Additionally, long-time collaborators Michael Kosarin and Danny Troob will serve as music supervisor/arranger and orchestrator, respectively.

Completing the design ensemble are sound designer John Shivers, projection and video designer Darrel Maloney, and hair and makeup designer David H. Lawrence. Illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer, who worked on the original 1994 production, will once again captivate audiences with his magical creations.

Thomas Schumacher, Chief Creative Officer of Disney Theatrical Group, expressed excitement about the refreshed rendition, stating, “We’ve heard from audiences for three decades now that Beauty and the Beast has profoundly touched them—these characters, songs, and this sweeping story.” He added, “How proud we are, then, to bring this refreshed and human take on the show—with the scale and spectacle the title deserves—to longtime fans and an entirely new generation. This Beauty is for them.”

The ticket sources shown here are the only official ticket sources for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST in each city. Guests who choose to purchase tickets from a ticket broker or any third party should be aware that those tickets may be fraudulent and may not grant admission to the show. In addition, the venue will be unable to reprint or replace lost or stolen tickets purchased from a third party and will be unable to contact guests with updates regarding the performance.
