‘It’s a Me, Mario!’ MAR10 Day 2024 Super Mario Bros Movie Sequal and Release Date Announced. Nintendo and Illumination have announced that a new Super Mario Bros. Movie is officially in development and will be released on April 3, 2026.

Directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are returning for this highly anticipated sequel. While details remain under wraps, animation for the project is set to commence soon.

Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, hinted at exciting developments, stating, “We’ll share more details when the time is right. Collaborating with Illumination, we aim to expand Mario’s universe even further, promising a vibrant and entertaining storyline. Stay tuned for updates!”

The news of a new Super Mario Bros. movie is anything but surprising as, as of July 2023, 168.1 million people had seen the film worldwide, and it made over $1.349 billion at the global box office. That earned the film the honor of the highest global box office performance of a film based on a video game and the second-highest for an animated film.
