Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Is Finally Coming To BritBox. BritBox International announced a fan favorite is coming to their streaming platform. Yes, Sherlock is finally going to be streaming on BritBox starting on March 20,2024.
The famous super sleuth, Detective Sherlock Holmes and his partner John Watson are staying at 221b Baker Street but also moving to Britbox. The show is a BBC show co created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.
From BritBox, The best in British television is about to get even better: Seasons 1-4 of hit BBC drama Sherlock are coming home to BritBox’s collection of Great British hits on March 20.
In this contemporary version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective stories, Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman, The Responder) is a war vet just home from Afghanistan. He meets the brilliant but eccentric Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch, Doctor Strange) when the latter, who serves as a consultant to Scotland Yard, advertises for a flatmate. Almost as soon as Watson moves into the Baker Street flat, they are embroiled in mysteries, and Sherlock’s nemesis, Moriarty (Andrew Scott, Fleabag), appears to have a hand in the crimes.
After binging Sherlock, fans of Cumberbatch will want to check out some of his early work in Van Gogh Painted with Words, Dunkirk (2004), and Fields of Gold on BritBox as well as his turn as Luke Fitzwilliam in the Murder is Easy episode of Agatha Christie’s Marple (Season 4 Ep 2).
