This movie stars Natasha Burnett and Viv Leacock. On ‘When Calls The Heart’ they star as married couple Minnie and Joseph Canfield. In this movie, they star as British Antique dealer Amelia Scott and small-town Massachusetts Sheriff Marcus Forrest. As a nod to ‘When Calls The Heart’, we have a guest appearance by Hrothgar Mathews as Mayor Teasdale. In WCTH, he stars as Shopkeeper Ned Yost.

The story is a delightful mystery about a true love locket. When an antique expert takes on a quest to find a long-lost locket that promises to bring the wearer, true love, she finds herself in conflict with, but also attracted to, the town sheriff.

Amelia has taken up her late mother’s quest to find the missing half of a famed locket. She follows the clues to a very small town in Massachusetts. Car breaks down and she meets Jack the town’s “jack” of all trades. See what they did there! She also meets the sheriff. He takes her to the town b & b, which he co-owns with his sister, Francine, and her adorable little daughter, Hannah.

Amelia meets townsfolk and talks antiques. This excites the town folk. She goes to the mayor’s office to look at the town’s historical archives for clues on the missing half of locket. We meet Poppy, the mayor’s girlfriend, who is also filling in as a secretary of sorts. Amelia is denied entry into the archives as there is no one to work there and help her. She offers to help with the town’s 200th anniversary. The town is having a Founder’s Day Ball.

The mystery grows as Amelia is being followed and the archives were emptied and Enid’s room was ransacked. It was pretty easy to figure out who was the one doing all this. I won’t spoil it here but believe me, it was super easy. Despite this and the terrible flashbacks to the original owners of the Locket, this is a fun movie. The chemistry between Natasha Burnett and Viv Leacock is as enjoyable as it is in ‘When Calls The Heart’. These two should team up all the time. They are a pure joy to watch.

The predictability of the “bad guy” aside, there are two flashbacks to the 1800s to give the origin of the Locket. Everything about these scenes was bad. Seriously, not good. A bright spot is the always fun and enjoyable Beverley Elliott who played Enid.

If you are looking for a fun and easy movie, this is it. Again, just watching it for Natasha and Viv makes it worth it to me.
