‘Smellephants on Parade’ Presented by Scentsy Installation Has Begun. After months of speculation, and ‘nothing to see here’, finally we are starting to see the installation of the brand new experience called ‘Smellephants on Parade’ with new lighting posts and signage.
For those wondering when this will open? We may have a timeframe in mind. This is speculation, but the major Scentsy convention is happening in Orlando this summer. July 16th-19th, 2024. Scentsy may be holding a special evening at Disney World, and I do not know if it is at the Magic Kingdom or not, but I would think this will be done and open before the Scentsy Family Reunion.
Scentsy President and Interim CEO Dan Orchard and Walt Disney Imagineers announced on Thursday, July 27, at the 2023 Scentsy Family Reunion that a new Walt Disney World Resort experience, “Smellephants on Parade,” will be available to guests of all ages in the Storybook Circus area in Magic Kingdom Park.
To celebrate this, Scentsy has launched a new_Dumbo Collection As guests enter the Storybook Circus area, they will find a casting call from Timothy Q. Mouse, seeking out a “Whiff-assistant” to join Dumbo’s newest act and leading them to a ticket booth in front of Big Top Souvenirs, where a Cast Member will provide them with an illustrated map and sticker sheet to guide them in their training.
From there, “Whiff-assistants” in training will explore the Storybook Circus area to find several Smellephant statues, each with a unique, circus-inspired fragrance, courtesy of Scentsy. The Smellephant statues reflect the whimsical nature of Storybook Circus, and each has a unique design based on the scent they represent.
Scentsy collaborated with Walt Disney Imagineering to develop and provide fragrances that fit perfectly within the story of Storybook Circus, and the scents featured around the land will include churro, popcorn, cotton candy, and more.
Below you can see the “New Act Debuting Soon” signage at the entrance to Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction.
These circles of red pylons are hollow and filled with lighting. 6 pylons per ring. They line the area around Casey Jr’s Splash zone.
As you walk up towards the circus tent in the back, there are more of these circular patterns with the same signage about a new act debuting soon.
We counted a total of 8 rings all throughout Storybook Circus. These are right outside Pete’s Silly Sideshow tent.
Scentsy recently took over as presenting sponsor of Dumbo the Flying Elephant here at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Now it looks like Scentsy will be taking over for the majority of Storybook Circus.
An “Ear”-born Adventure
Based on the 1941 Disney animated masterpiece Dumbo, this classic attraction lets you hop atop everybody’s favorite circus elephant as he discovers he can fly. Dumbo’s faithful friend Timothy Q. Mouse helps keeps you aloft with his “magic” feather.
As the jubilant organ melody begins, lift off for a graceful cruise around (and around and around) Storybook Circus.

Before your flight, step into the big-top tent and let your wild animals frolic in an air-conditioned children’s playground for all ages. You’ll be alerted when it’s time to board your flight!
