Recap and Preview For Tonight’s When Calls The Heart on Hallmark Channel. It’s Sunday and you know what that means for the Hallmark Channel.
Yes, it’s time for When Calls The Heart. New episodes air on Sunday nights at 9/8C and will be available to stream on the Hallmark Movies Now app the following day.
This week we will look at Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Bill (Jack Wagner) team up to investigate a case they believe shouldn’t be closed. The women of Hope Valley start a daycare. Hickam (Ben Rosenbaum) and Mei (Amanda Wong) celebrate a milestone. But to go forward, we need to look back at last week’s episode. Here’s your recap!
Looking back, last week had a few stories going. This will be disjointed but bear with me. Lucas calls Lee, Rosemary, Bill, Mike, and Ned and they talk about the resort project. Lucas mentions that he needs to sell the Saloon. He assures Mike that he will encourage whoever buys it to keep him in their employ. Rosemary tries to ask about Pike’s arrest but Lucas doesn’t remember and Bill changes the subject.
Rosemary is also worried about all the time this is going to take away from the family. It’s good for business but they already don’t see each other often. She wants to have breakfast with him and he can’t. He says he will have lunch with her. Does he make it? Nope. She finds him in his office going over the books for the Saloon. He tells her that he wants them to buy the Saloon.
She’s mad and storms out. Later, they talk about it and he assures her that while it’s a great investment, he wouldn’t be running it. It would be expertly run by Mike who is the real asset. He also wants Richard to do more at the lumber mill, freeing up more time for her and Goldie.
Allie just wanted to take Nathan fishing for his birthday but he got the impression that she was throwing a surprise party. With Elizabeth’s help and the help of others around town, they pulled off the surprise for Nathan. The best part of the planning was the sweet moments between Elizabeth and Little Jack. He drew an adorable birthday card for “Mountie Nathan.” It was a drawing of himself, Elizabeth, Nathan, Allie, and even Scout the dog.
Minnie overhears Cooper and Toby doing homework. Cooper encourages Toby to learn to do the math but Toby says he will just memorize the answers. Cooper tells him this won’t work because you have to actually do the work. Later, Minnie relays this news to Elizabeth as she is grading the papers. When the subject of Nathan’s party comes up, she offers to make a cake for it.
Minnie is finding it difficult to come up with words of wisdom all the time and Joseph thanks her for all she does. Boy are these two goals! They are so sweet. Joseph sees Henry outside tending trees. He goes and talks to him. He tells Henry that he’s welcome to keep tending them. Joseph tells Henry that he seems different. Henry says maybe he is.
On to Mike and Mei. What a cute love story blooming! Mei leaves the pharmacy and Mike sees her. he asks if they can get together to do crosswords later. Bill happens by and comments about the “newlyweds” in jest. Mei leaves. Later, Mike sees Mei on her bike. He waves and she doesn’t wave back. Mike walks over to her and tries to talk. She heads inside.
Mike asks if he’s done something wrong. She says no she’s just busy. Mei and Faith talk about how she’s confused. Mei feels like a terrible person. Things are scary when they get serious. At Nathan’s party, Mike talks to Mei. She apologizes. She’s scared. She didn’t mean to be cold. They dance.
Mike is also worried that he needs to look for a new job. Bill says that he’s getting ahead of himself. Bill and Lee talk about the saloon. Lee mentions that Bill once wanted to buy it. Bill is wrapped up in investigating Lucas’ shooting. He doesn’t buy the Pike arrest. Mike tells them how great the Saloon is doing business-wise. This gets Lee thinking, as I said earlier. Lee wants to buy the Saloon.
At Nathan’s party, Bill and Lee tell Mike that there will be new owners soon. Mike is so nervous. Lee says that he bought the saloon and that the real investment is Mike. He will be running it.
Meanwhile, some sweet Faith and Lily moments. Faith, while talking to Mei is making Lily a sandwich. Lily comes down for dinner all dressed up in Faith’s clothes saying she’s ready for dinner. What a cutie. Later, Faith is reading a book to the little girl. Lily asks about her grandma. Faith tells her that she’s getting better. She tells Lilly that when she’s missing someone she closes her eyes and tries to picture them. They do this and Lily sees her grandma and Faith says she saw her friend, Fiona. Fiona is missed.
Now on to Rosemary and Bill. The sleuths are sleuthing. Rosemary is extremely perturbed by the Benson Hills Beetle ran with “Exclusive! Governor’s Shooter Unabridged Confession.” She says that Randall Rockwell just quoted word for word Clayton Pike’s confession. That is not journalism, she says. Ned tells her to get her own source and beat Rockwell at this.
Later, she’s saying to Bill that it’s too easy. Wrapped up too nicely. Bill thinks it’s pretty convenient. When Rosemary runs into Bill again later, she presses him on his thoughts about the real shooter. She wants to work together. He says she knows as much as he does. Bill talks to Henry at the Saloon about the shooting. Bill says that the clues were like dominoes. At the same time, Rosemary and Lee are looking at clues on a board at home. Pike is someone with no motive. Bill thinks it doesn’t add up. He believes that Montague is still in this.
Lastly, we have Elizabeth’s story last week. She helps Allie get the surprise party together. She sees Henry in town and hugs him. Elizabeth asks about Abigail. Henry says she’s fine. Elizabeth was wondering if Henry was going to come back. He said that Abigail told him she wanted him to be happy. Henry says he’s working towards that. All through the episode, Elizabeth helps get the party together for Nathan. She got roped into it. The party goes off without a hitch.
Everyone is happy. Outside the saloon, where the party is happening, Nathan runs into Elizabeth. They’re getting some fresh air. Elizabeth tells him he’s a good sport. He says he thought he had her and Allie figured out but he doesn’t. Nathan touches her hair and says there is something. The moment is ended by the partygoers inside singing, “For he’s a jolly good fellow.” Nathan and Elizabeth go inside. The crowd is not singing for Nathan. We see Lucas coming down the steps with his cane.
We can’t wait to see how this week. In the preview, we see Rosemary and Elizabeth. Rosemary says “The return of Lucas Bouchard is causing quite a stir.” Lee asks Lucas, “Have you seen Elizabeth since you’ve been back?” Bill and Nathan are talking to Lucas and Edwin. Bill says, “What do you think about more security?” Edwin says, “In Hope Valley?” Elizabeth says to Nathan that she’s worried about Lucas. Rosemary says that we all know he has an affinity toward surprises. Lastly, we see Lucas walk into the schoolhouse. Elizabeth says, “What brings the governor to our schoolhouse?” He says, “I have a question for you.”
In another sneak peek, we see Bill and Nathan in the stables. Bill says that he just heard a phone call between Rosemary and Montague. He calls him smug. Bill says he’s hiding something. Nathan says maybe an accomplice? Bill says possibly and that he doesn’t buy his alibi. Nathan asks for proof. Bill doesn’t have it yet but he could have been at the shooting and he will prove it.
Nathan thanks him for keeping him in the loop. Bill says, that they both know there is more to this story. Then Bill says, “Isn’t that Elizabeth’s horse?” Nathan says he was already done brushing his horse so he moved to hers. Bill leaves and Nathan looks at his horse and says not a word out of you.
