Three Kings Day: Roscón de Reyes
El Dia de los Reyes Magos is a traditional Spanish holiday celebrated with one of the most delicious treats you’ll ever taste! At Jaleo Disney Springs, we’re selling full Roscón de Reyes (King Cakes) for you to enjoy at home. This brioche-like cake is shaped into a ring like the Three Kings’ crowns, and decorated with dried fruit, nuts, and sugar. Each cake holds a hidden bean and a king figure. As tradition goes, if you find the bean, you have to buy the cake next year, but if you find the king, you’ll have good luck for the whole year!
On Jan. 6, in celebration of Three King’s Day (or Die de Reyes), Jaleo at Disney Springs, the cutting-edge Spanish restaurant, will provide guests with slices of Chef Jose’s iconic Roscón de Reyes cake. In Spain, this holiday is inspired by the story of the Three Wise Men who brought gifts to baby Jesus after he was born and is celebrated with more excitement than Christmas, as children receive gifts and get to indulge in the sweet delicacy.
This year, Chef Jose is bringing the fun to Disney Springs with his Roscón de Reyes, flavored with orange blossom, caramelized cherries, orange melon, and almonds. Available with or without whipped cream, each cake includes a hidden “Rey” (king) figurine baked inside, and whoever finds the King will have good luck for the rest of the year.
To participate in this traditional Spanish celebration, make a reservation to dine at Jaleo at Disney Springs.
