Opinion: Disney Blogs Go Crazy Over Rumor of Disney Store Returning – shopDisney Demands Original Article be Removed. Our Community sometimes is crazy. Always in search of the latest and breaking news in hopes of getting the most clicks. Always trying to outdo each other, which sometimes can lead to speculation and rumors being started by one outlet, picked up by a second, and then the rest of the Disney Community picks up on it.
These rumors can sometimes turn out to be true, but the majority can turn out false and lead to having to explain for years to come that it was never true. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to answer a question about a ride or attraction at Walt Disney World that a person thought was going to be removed. The reality is it was never going to change, but since a site posted a rumor about it, and they read it, they think it is true.
As breaking news emerges, more and more individuals turn to social media to stay informed about the latest developments. However, it’s crucial to note that relying on social media in these circumstances can lead to the spread of rumors, as information is often released gradually and may remain unverified even after it’s initially shared.
Let’s take the newest Disney rumor – shopDisney.com to change back to Disneystore.com.

Is this true or false? The real answer is we don’t know. A reputable site and blog said in an article that they had first-hand reports of the change coming. (We are not saying who the site is out of respect). This reporting was then picked up by the largest Disney fan site in the community, which linked back to the first site.
This is when it blew up, the next to pick it up were the two other large blogs, which also linked back to site 1. The faucet was wide open now. Once the three main blogs wrote about it, the rumor mill was in full effect, and all the other blogs and influencers saw the news as confirmed news picked it up, and ran with it.
Now the other fan sites and blogs that just copy whatever the top blog does (which is how a majority of them operate, seriously, half of these people don’t even live near or close to Disney and they just have images and read what the one site does, then they write a version of the copied article, no clue if it is true or not).
Here is where the issue comes in – No one has verified this! Not only that, but because rumor is spilling out of the blog faucet everyone has reported on it. But – the original article was removed by request of Disney themselves! This means 3 of the main sites have removed their articles about the rumor. WHAT?
Site 1 – “This article has been removed at the request of shopDisney. The removal does not reflect on the validity of the previously posted story.”
Site 3 – Oops! That page can’t be found.
Site 4 – Page Not Found
The proverbial Genie cannot be put back in the bottle now, too many other sites have reported it, and they will not go back and care that the original article was removed as requested by Disney.
Now, the ones who actually care about rumor and innuendo have to deal with the fans of Disney who read our articles for news, information, and general fun, asking about these changes!
Like always if you go to disneystore.com, it redirects to shopDisney.com. There has been no official word from The Walt Disney Company. Until we get direct word from The Walt Disney Company, this will remain a rumor. Again, there is a good possibility this will change.
