Magic Kingdome Park Day 2/12/2024: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Updates, Main Street Cinema Signage, New Honorary Pins, and Characters Everywhere. Magical Day at the Magic Kingdom here at Disney World.

The weather was absolutely perfect and the sun was shining brilliantly, at least for the few hours we were at the Park. It did start to get cloudy and rain was in the forecast for later in the day.

So let us start with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Scaffolding is being removed from the front of the Southern Dome Salt Company. We were there as some were being taken apart. There is a ton of new theming that has happened over the past week, including vines growing up The Tiana’s Tiara Topped Tower (say that 5 times fast…Tiana’s Tiara Topped Tower, Tiana’s Tiara Topped Tower, Tiana’s Tiara Topped Tower, Tiana’s Tiara Topped Tower, Tiana’s Tiara Topped Tower).

Furthermore, we finally spotted the new weather vane that was installed. We wrote extensively about New Weathervane Installed at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Crafted by Louisiana’s Master Blacksmith, Darryl Reeves, you can see the image we added a highlight for y’all to pick it out also.

In case you are wondering, the image doesn’t do it justice on where it is placed. It is actually on the old water mill area in the front of the attractions.

By the time you read this article, it will be Mardi Gras aka Fat Tuesday, and hopefully we will be over at Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter enjoying the festivities. But, for those home reading, maybe we will get an announcement of an opening date soon? Who knows, maybe today! That would make sense, but don’t let your beignet get cold waiting for that.

On Main Street USA, Disney has finally updated the wording on the Main Street Cinema sign. Since the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary it has read “The Magic of Walt Disney World” and on the sides “Now Serving 50 years of Magic”. You can see the sign from just last week.

Now the sign has been updated, it now reads “Now Showing Mickey Mousterpieces”. We love the little details like this.

Stroll down Main Street, U.S.A., and into a charming shop filled with keepsakes for the whole family. Main Street Cinema sells, pins, ears, and a Mickey Mouse collection.

Speaking of shopping, We found some cool new pins at Frontier Trading Post. The new pins have the same shape as a Cast Member name tag, but they have the Honorary Title.

There are 3 pins in total, Honorary Pirate ‘Dead Men Tell No Tale’, Honorary Princess ‘A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes’ and finally, Honorary Ghoul ‘Welcome Foolish Mortal’

Finally, for today, we have been seeing more and more characters just wandering around the parks. Of course, we stopped and saw Shaker and Wendell over in Frontierland. Figure they will be out every day from now on, at least until The Country Bear Musical opens sometime in 2024. They have no job! Might as well wander.

If you’ve been too busy trottin’ through the Wild West and have missed the news, the Country Bears are getting ready to put on a new show that pays homage to the Opry-style shows of Nashville. While the Country Bear Musical Jamboree will include easter eggs from the beginning to the end including a familiar tune fans may remember, the bears will sing new, reinterpreted Disney tunes in different genres of country music – like bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly, and other styles.

One of the coolest things we saw was Aladdin and Princess Jasmine were just walking around Adventureland today. Accidentally ran into them while they were shopping. Rather weird interaction if I do say so myself. I thought they were cosplayers and didn’t pay any attention, then did a double take and said to myself “Holy crude, it’s the real ones”. So I did what any self-respecting person would do and I tagged along as they shopped and strolled around.

We also spotted Peter Pan in of all places Fantasyland, right by his own attraction. He was moving fast and we just walked out of a shop. We did get an image for everyone.

Okay, this time I really mean finally… apparently, a new Donald Duck Easter Egg sipper is coming to Disneyland! If this doesn’t make its way to Disney World, I will be rather upset. Look how cute the Duck looks. Mind you, it is a take on last year’s Donald Duck Candy Corn and Christmas Tree version.
