Epcot Park Day – Low Crowds, CommuniCore Painting, Prehistoric Garden, New Merchandise, and more. The day called for showers to pass through in the later morning and early afternoon, with highs in the upper 70s. We spent that time racing to get through the Epcot before it would rain.

The rain never showed up, neither did the crowds. It is officially spring break and we may have been in the middle of a shift of guests. Some leaving to head back home, while new guests arrive, but whatever the reason getting around Epcot was really easy yesterday early.

We have an image tour of Epcot to share and we will start it off at the only crowds we saw yesterday was at security. Normally they have both security lines located on the left and right of Spaceship Earth, but no, they had the security line closed on the bus drop off side which made for some larger lines getting through.

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza are still under construction. It may seem like it has slowed down a little bit, but it will be open prior to Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival this summer.

We have seen the inside getting a new mural and over the past week or so. Recently they have added the Nova Corp ship, and also the fish from The Seas. We should be able to see every pavilion referenced when the mural is finished.

CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, a multi-use facility and outdoor event space, respectively, that bring the park’s international festivals to the center of EPCOT. CommuniCore Plaza will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens, as you can see in the rendering above, as well as large-scale concerts.

CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible exhibition and gallery space, offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more. In addition, adjacent to CommuniCore Hall will be a new Mickey & Friends location where you can meet some of your favorite Disney pals.

Speaking of construction, Mission: SPACE has finished up the refurbishment on the exterior. The planets have been cleaned, the Earth has returned, and all the walls and scrim is down.

During Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival 2024 the Global Gardens are still taking shape. They grow and become better looking as time goes by with the flowers blooming, and this time Disney added some cute plastic dinosaurs to the Prehistoric Garden. They had previously not been there when we did our Garden review a few weeks ago.

Finally, Friendship boats were seen running between Mexico and Germany. They have not run between these two locations for a long time.

We did find out why we are seeing them coming and going in and out of Germany, apparently Morocco landing is being refurbished, so now the transportation runs between Canada and Germany. Which makes much better sense!
