‘The NeverEnding Story’ Reboot is Happening. Here we go, I finally get to write about something outside of Disney that I absolutely loved as a child. The NeverEnding Story was my favorite movie, the adventures of Bastian, Atrayu, Artax the Horse, the Rockbiter, the whole concept of the Nothing. How I wished I could ride on Falcor!

To this day, almost 40 years later, I will randomly scream “Say My Name, Bastian!” which btw bastion does scream “Moon Child” apparently that was his mothers name? At least he didnt say “Martha” (yup, I just did a Batman joke, inside a Disney blog, inside a article that has nothing to do with Batman)

Holly is our entertainment write here at TheFUnaticsBlog, but you need something written about cult classic kid movies I am your guy! Time Bandits, The Transformers, The Last Unicorn, The Goonies, Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, Dinotopia, the list doesn’t end that I could talk about. I just cant tell you about actors or actresses names! But, I digress…

The story begins with Bastian Balthasar Bux stumbling upon a mysterious book in an old bookstore. As he dives into its pages, he’s drawn into the heroic quest of Atréyu, who must save the magical realm of Fantastica and its ruler, the Childlike Empress, from being consumed by The Nothing, a force of oblivion. Bastian soon discovers he’s more than just a reader and finds himself transported into Fantastica, embarking on his own adventures.

For fans of The NeverEnding Story, a remake or reboot is more like it, is on the way in multiple movies. The Original was the most expensive movie ever made at the time outside of the USA, costing around $25 Million dollars in 1983. It was made in Germany.

A new series of live-action films based on the timeless children’s fantasy classic, The NeverEnding Story, is in the works, thanks to Michael Ende Productions and See-Saw Films. They’ve secured the rights to Ende’s beloved novel with the approval of Wolf-Dieter von Gronau, the author’s executor.

Originally published in 1979, The NeverEnding Story became a sensation in Germany, staying on the bestseller lists for years and captivating readers worldwide with its translation into 45 languages and millions of copies sold. It inspired movies, TV shows, video games, songs, and more, including the cult favorite 1984 film co-written and directed by Wolfgang Peterson.
