Spring Breakers 2024 Have Descended on Epcot After Slow Week. Last week was quite the anomaly as far as crowds go. We witnessed for ourselves some of the lowest wait times of the year. We spent time last week at Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, and each one was lower crowds than we had expected.
No reason for that to happen, our only thoughts are that it was an in between Spring Breakers. One set of vacationing guests had gone home, and another set was preparing to come down to Disney World. The only other time we had seen something like this was a few years ago when Easter fell at the end of March. We figure the schools must shift the dates of spring break around the easter break when it falls in March. (Oh, maybe we did solve it). Plus locals with Pixie and Pirate Annual passes were blocked out.
Those light crowd days are officially over! We went to Epcot to check things out, and by 9:00 AM, we knew we had made a mistake! As locals we should have known better and stayed home. Let the out of town guests have the park! Parking took a little longer than normal. Getting through security took a little longer, but getting inside the park, at the scanners, took no time at all.
We did spend some good quality time inside the park. Let’s check it all out and see what is new and how it was. Crowds were waiting in line at Journey Into Imagination and the wait times shifted between 15 min and 45 minutes all day.
Below you can see what the wait times were around the park. This screen shot of the MyDisneyExperience App was at 10:30 AM. Only thing that made our eyes bulge a little was the 75 Min Mission Space. The rest of the times were on par for Spring Break.
We did get to ride Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind. We had Virtual Group #2 and when we rode it around 10 AM the inside queue wasnt too bad. We made it on after only a slight 5 minute wait in the hallway.
On thing that has changed is where you do DAS/Rider Swap. The Cast Members are now located to the side of the coaster. Closest to Connections Eatery. The DAS and Rider Assistance used to be located right at the entrance to the ride on the left and right side.
So if you are looking for them head to the left side now and look for the blue umbrellas.
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza opening day is coming June 10th, 2024. Disney Parks announced the other day a special limited time Encanto stage show, along with Mickey & Friends meet and greet, along with the new mural that will grace the inside.

While we are looking at the construction of CommuniCore from the Imagination Pavilion and the dancing fountains, we checked out the new Rose Walk construction.
Recently, Disney opened up a portion of the area to Flavors of Florida food booth for the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. Walls are still up on the side of the newly opened food booth. They are building 2 more structures that will be in between the food booth and what was the old Starbucks and the restrooms.
There is new Figment merchandise for sale in the Imagination Pavilion. A women’s shirt, Leggings that say ‘Let Your Imagination Soar’ a new unisex shirt with “Imagination is a Blast’.
The shirt and leggings were for $36.99 each.

There is a new Disney/Pixar UP collection coming out. In Disneyland we got a few images of the new Loungefly Ears, and here locally at Creation Shop, the new UP Loungefly Mini-Backpack.
“Spirit of Adventure” Carl, Dug, and Russel. Carl is at the helm of the blimp, wearing the now famous goggles and helmet.
Furthermore, there is a new Starbucks X Disney Parks Walt Disney World tumbler. The new gold and black tumbler sparkles nicely in the sun.
Below, are just Disney Ducks sleeping! Who doesnt want to see a image of Disney Ducks? It is the Easter season, and over at the Magic Kingdom you can meet and greet Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny, but here at Epcot… Sleeping Ducks! Do you take random photos of things around Disney World? My thing is birds.
Finally, this time of year is perfect to visit Epcot. With Flower & Garden going on, the actual flowers are filling in around the topiaries and blooming nicely. We got a great image of the Disney ‘Wish’ topiary with Valentino and the wishing star.
