‘The Way Home’ On Hallmark Channel Season Two Wraps Up On Sunday. The hit show on the Hallmark Channel is coming to a close on Sunday with it’s Season Two Finale. Will we be left with answers or more questions? This is the recurring theme with this series.

Season Two of The Way Home has been a roller coaster ride between the present day, the early 2000s, and 1814. We have met new characters along the way. We got to know meet Noah, Sam, and Casey Goodwin in the present day. Also, we met Evelyn Goodwin in 2007. Furthemore, we met Elijah Landry, Susanna Augustine, Cyrus Goodwin, Thomas Coyle, and yes finally adult Jacob Landry.

Beware: Spoilers ahead from Episode 9.

Last episode, we saw the aftermath of the 2007 Lingermore party. Kat was in the hospital with a head injury. Alice talks to her but she’s still asleep. When Brady comes in, Alice hides and listens to what they discuss. A nurse comes in and tells them that she’s doing well and so is the baby. The what? Kat and Brady didn’t know that she was pregnant. They are so happy and Kat tells Brady that she wants to name the baby after her friend from years ago, Alice. How weird it must be for Alice to see how she was named?!

In present day, Nick wants to know what is going on with Elliot’s notebook about Alice’s adventures in time travel. Elliot and Kat tell him what has been happening and Nick is understandably shook. The episode does end with a nice wrap up with Adult Nick and present day Alice. It was understandably awkward and still beautiful. The writers and crew handled it very well and removed what could have been ICK.

Del sold the land to the Goodwins. We see that Del met with Evelyn in 2007 and smoothed things over with her in the Lingermore party aftermath. She was going to press charges but Del fixes it. But the interaction brought up so many questions. Why would saying do it for Colton work on Evelyn? Why did Del felt she owed Evelyn? I have so many questions. This interaction led to Kat and Del having a falling out that lasted until she came home with Alice in the last season. Harsh words between the mother and daughter and hurt feelings caused a 16 year rift.

In 1814, we find out that Jacob is free because of a deal that Thomas struck with Cyrus Goodwin. Jacob thanks Kat for her efforts to save him. Susanna talks to Kat and asks about women in Kat’s time. She shows Kat a copy of Grimm’s Fairytales and Sense and Sensibility. Susanna wants to leave 1814 and go to the present with Kat. Kat agrees to take her but the pond won’t let her.

Kat has a conversation with Elijah about Jacob’s origin with them. She shows him the red tennis shoe. She wants answers. Elijah tells her about his wife Rebecca and how she found this little boy at the pond when she was distraught over the loss of her own son. She took the miracle boy and raised him as their own. As she was dying, she told Elijah the whole story about the pond and he wrote it in the almanac. Jacob hears all this and rips the page out of the book in a fit. It was his story. The pond takes you where you need to go.

He talks to Kat and she tries to get him to come home with her. He says no. This is where he belongs. He says he will leave a message to his mom. He writes the line in the almanac about the explorers and stars. That is his message to Del.

In the present day, Elliot and Kat are looking at the book about the Ghost stories of Port Haven. Kat knows she is the White Witch but she sees something else in the book that makes her scared. She races to the Herald and goes through the archives looking for Thomas’ name in a list of executed. Panic sets in. Can she go back and save Thomas?

I haven’t even touched on the stuff with Brady or Alice and Elliot’s relationship. So many questions left in my head. Now, onto the finale. From Hallmark Channel, Del, Kat, Alice and Elliot each receive answers about their past and present, while hope for the future brings new questions.

We see from the preview that Del is packing up the house. We see Casey Goodwin is back! WHAT??? How does she fit into to all this? See more questions. We see Alice playing Colton’s guitar. And Easter Egg on the guitar has always been there is the Coyle’s sticker. I’m hoping we get more information about Thomas and his fate and how it relates to current Port Haven. And will we get the answer to who painted the “My Katherine” portrait that was hanging in Linergmore? I have so many questions, as does so many of the Ponders, Ponderers, whatever we are calling ourselves.

Today, on Facebook live we had a nice video feed led by Breanne Heldman from People with Andie MacDowell (Del Landry), Evan Williams (Elliot Augustine), Sadie Laflamme-Snow (Alice Dhawan), Spencer Macpherson (adult Jacob Landry).

It was so nice to hear from them what they have enjoyed about the series and to welcome Spencer to the gang. I won’t give it all away but Evan and Sadie said things that really stuck with me. I highly recommend going to Hallmark Channel’s Facebook and watching this video. As a fan, it was fantastic! And yes, Evan, I will bring a roll of paper towels to the finale! I will have a full wrap up on Monday after I digest that finale. Thankfully, we are getting season 3!
