Countdown to Summer Kicks Off on Hallmark Channel This Weekend. It’s May. Not quite summer yet but close enough. Hallmark Channel is giving us a quick little kickoff to Summer with four fun movies.
Now I know what a lot of people complain about. A few times a year, Hallmark Channel will take movies that were originally aired on the Hallmark Mystery channel and air them as premieres on the Hallmark Channel. I see you people in the Facebook groups complaining. I get it. However, some people do not have the Hallmark Mystery channel or have access to the Hallmark Movies Now streaming service. Let’s just try to enjoy them and see these movies get their place in the spotlight on the Hallmark Channel.
First up, A Lifelong Love premieres on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 8/7C. This movie stars When Calls The Heart’s Andrea Brooks and Patch May. It’s the story of aspiring poet Annika (Brooks) and her ex-boyfriend Ryan (May), a street photographer, who have their respective book pitches rejected, they are given another, more captivating and financially viable task: document the voyage of Abe (Tom Young, We Wish You
a Married Christmas), Annika’s grandpa, as he attempts to find his old flame, Ruth Barlowe (Brenda Gorlick, Pumpkin Everything). With the search for Ruth underway, Annika finds it difficult to suspend her perfectionist tendencies and create accelerated/off-the-cuff poetry. And her inability to adapt puts both their publication prospect and her growing feelings for Ryan in jeopardy. With so much at stake, Annika must learn to embrace this new challenge, even if it means abandoning her old, comfortable habits.
Next, A Whitewater Romance will air on May 11, 2024 at 8/7C. This stars Ben Hollingsworth and Cindy Busby. Maya Alvaro (Busby) is a strong but sweet hardworking businesswoman with a heart of gold. What she is not is a rugged outdoorsy type. So, when the CEO of her company invites her to an exclusive whitewater rafting retreat in the Rocky Mountains, Maya’s not so sure she’s the woman for the job. If she can do this and survive a weekend camping in the woods, the promotion of her dreams will be hers. Shortly after arriving \itewater Lodge, Maya meets Matt (Hollingsworth), a man who IS an outdoorsy type. Maya quickly realizes that Matt is also trying to snag the same coveted contract she’s after and as fate would have it, the two are paired as a
team to complete a series of team-building exercises together, including zip-lining, high-wire rope walking, and Maya’s most dreaded event, whitewater rafting. As Maya lets her guard down to brave the wild wilderness, what begins as a ferocious competition slowly starts to evolve into something much more.
Then on May 18, 2024, at 8/7C, we have Everything Puppies. A dedicated entrepreneur and inventor looking to make it big creating innovative dog toys and treats finds success with the support of a handsome client. Starring Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes, Stephen Huszar, and Kathryn Davis.
Rounding it off is Big Sky River A Bridal Path on May 25, 2024, at 8/7C. This sequel stars Emmanuel Vaugier and Kavan Smith. Tara Kendall (Vaugier), now settled in Montana and dating Sheriff and Cowboy Boone Taylor (Smith), works to bring their family lives together but tensions soon arise, as they both realize that blending their families will be more of a challenge than they anticipated. Erin (Cassidy Nugent, “The Good Doctor”) struggles to find her place in both families, as now she not only has to share Tara with Boone’s children, but her father, James (Peter Benson, “The Wedding Contract”), is going to have the baby boy of his dreams. However, a new foreign exchange student has arrived in town, and he may be able to give Erin the attention she seeks. Meanwhile, Country sensation Casey Elder (Michelle Harrison, “The Flash”) has found herself a genuine, down-to-earth beau and her new album seems to stem from her new bustling romance.
